I keep checking back at Bubblegum-machine but they haven't added anything since week 100. What gives?

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

There's no music left, that's what.

i have my faves bookmarked into packs of five. open the folder in tabs in firefox and i can quickly scan what's new.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

we did this before.

Cucina Povera or Punktum.

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

paging forksclovetofu...

Me, my favorite mp3 blogs are Spoilt Victorian Child, soul sides, 20 Jazz Funk Greats, silence is a rhythm too, the Number One Songs in Heaven, music (for robots), Moistworks, moebius rex,
largehearted boy, and of course Fluxblog>. Just to name a few.

For music gossip, I like Pop (all love) and No Rock and Roll Fun best of all.

Some of the critic's blogs are pretty good too (like shutyrgob aka blackie lawless fanclub- which I think only recently has started including mp3s), if a bit willfully obscure.

TayBridge, Tuesday, 15 February 2005 21:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I like PopText and Government Names.

Jeff Reguilon (Talent Explosion), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 22:55 (twenty-one years ago)

government names.

f-a-b-o-l-o-u-s (adamwest), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

PopText and Clap Clap are my top two right now.

i try and keep up with G&W and shutyrgob, but i have a pretty minimal amount of patience when it comes to most blogs

no homo (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 01:00 (twenty-one years ago)

see, now if i had never clicked on that musicissue blog link i never would have seen the picture of matos licking chocolate off his hand:

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 01:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Mil (Mil), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:15 (twenty-one years ago)

this is not self-promotion bcuz i think my contributions are some of the less-useful on the site but http://somanyshrimp.com/ now has bay area legend Ta posting shit and I think Serg is a pretty entertaining writer.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

heh i suppose it is self-promotion but whatever fuck you.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i've given govtnames and gelandweave tons of props elsewhere so i don't think i need to reiterate their worth particularly when they already seem pretty popular on ilm.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:20 (twenty-one years ago)

The secret is to self-promote AND self-deprecate at the same time

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:21 (twenty-one years ago)

nah the key is to talk about how dope othr people are.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:30 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.o-dub.com/weblog/index.html

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I like o-dub's blog a lot; i know some ppl don't because its not 100% focused on the music or they think he's corny or old or whatever but I think those people are wrong. Mostly.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 02:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Nick Sylvester, Wednesday, 16 February 2005 06:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Brooklynvegan is pretty good.

cdwill, Wednesday, 16 February 2005 08:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I second Julianne Shepherd.

Kevin Erickson, Wednesday, 16 February 2005 08:33 (twenty-one years ago)

moebius rex is pretty decent. Rarely surprising but all the tunes he posts are nice, and he's rare in being a consistent dance music mp3 blogger.

Jacob (Jacob), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 08:35 (twenty-one years ago)

you can find'em on my links page. but i check omar's, jess', anthony's, geeta's and simon r's on a daily basis. the rest i also check but not as regularly, mostly because they don't update as much (HEY RONAN START POSTING AGAIN).

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Monday, 4 April 2005 02:06 (twenty years ago)

I keep on suddenly remembering that it's spizzazz.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 4 April 2005 02:09 (twenty years ago)

Holy shit, I haven't read Spizzazzz in months.

Blogger-hosted or blogspot-hosted blogs without RSS feeds really should enable them in the Blogger options.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Monday, 4 April 2005 02:30 (twenty years ago)

Lemon-Red's April Fools post was 5/5.

I enjoy spizzazz. That last dancehall roundup is terrific.

djdee (djdee2005), Monday, 4 April 2005 03:43 (twenty years ago)

Not that I'm in a position to argue how accurate it is.

djdee (djdee2005), Monday, 4 April 2005 03:43 (twenty years ago)

spizzazz probably only because rob dem co is such a shit hot (underrated?) writer.

scg, Monday, 4 April 2005 13:30 (twenty years ago)

actually that makes it sound like i don't like the other writers when i do! i wish i had more time to blog these days.

scg, Monday, 4 April 2005 13:31 (twenty years ago)

I remember being annoyed when I Love Everything split off from I Love Music. What, isn't music part of "everything"? Isn't everything part of music? If you cut music off from everything, doesn't music die? And doesn't your love for it die too?

Following the philosophy that music is a way of looking at everything rather than something you should look at with your back turned on everything, I've made my own blog Click Opera something that touches on music, and sometimes even bursts into song, but mostly looks at -- and loves -- everything. As for blogs I love, they tend to look at everything (including music) too. The one I check most at the moment is Neomarxisme.

Momus (Momus), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:24 (twenty years ago)

r.w. them & co is underrated?

and, yes, t.finney OTM

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:30 (twenty years ago)

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:45 (twenty years ago)

blackmail.is.my.life (blackmail.is.my.life), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:48 (twenty years ago)

i was totally kidding.

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Monday, 4 April 2005 15:49 (twenty years ago)

"spizzazz probably only because rob dem co is such a shit hot (underrated?) writer."

I like all of them but yeah rob them co has been on fire lately! And he's got a really great and unusual writing style - like he's trying to get across these really complex and subtle distinctions about the music and its critical reception while remaining faithful to spizzazzz's in-house style, so you get these hyper-compressed critical contortions that reminds me heavily of mark s but is also totally different. I wish I could do it.

E-crunk very insightful often too but in more of a fluid conversational manner.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 4 April 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

I would marry Daphne Carr
