I'm really looking forward to reading the Thalia Zedek piece, I love her.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Neil wrote it, and it's just perfect... the best thing i've read from him so far for us.

here's a non-broken link to the plush cover:

That's the best lineup of bands and artists yet by a mile. Good stuff

DJ Mencap0))), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks mencap - really really proud of the spread of artists (though they were still a couple who slipped away... ah, maybe next time)

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

this is looking amazing stevie, i've been a follower since the start and there's always been consistent quality on all fronts. i am always compelled to get my friends to smell and touch the pages!

monia.l (monia.l), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 13:38 (twenty-one years ago)

aye - Loose Lips is a very sensual magazine. i like to think of us as the 'herbal essences' of the music press.

thanks again for the kind words and encouragement. we don't make money off this beast, so such stuff is our oxygen...

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

whereas the nme is the radox body and hairwash 2 in 1 for men, but we won't go there.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

and by 'herbal essences' i mean the shampoo, not some hippy reference to marijuana (though if the multi-coloured glasto jester's hat fits...)

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:16 (twenty-one years ago)

We know that your life is defined solely by your Ozric Tentacles bootlegs.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

The words Ozric and Tentacles make me wretch everytime. everytime.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 February 2005 01:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Stevie, just heard some rumours about Steve putting LLSS on hold for at least the next six months... Is this true?

JP Almeida (JP Almeida), Thursday, 24 February 2005 22:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Er, well, I'm not Stevie, but yes, it is true.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 24 February 2005 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Argh. Is this really just a pause, or is Steve giving up? I hope not, it's still the best current music magazine for me (along with Plan B, which seems is finally getting worldwide distribution. About time, people!).

JP Almeida (JP Almeida), Thursday, 24 February 2005 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I have bought a couple of issues of both mags and I think LLSS is better. So it's a shame if it's put on the back burner.

Andy Jay, Thursday, 24 February 2005 23:02 (twenty-one years ago)

A pause, just a pause. The last issue was just a killer to put together, and an overload of that along with paid work (LLSS is non-profit so is, in fact, a rather time-intensive 'hobby') and family commitments just made Loose Lips a big bag of No Fun this time around. So we're taking a break, until we want to do this again. We reckon we'll be back by the end of the Summer, though no promises. Loose Lips will probably be quite different when it returns, too. We've got to make it work for us before we can return. But return we shall.

Is that clear? Probably not...

In the meantime, celebrate celebrate our hiatus with a show at the Brixton Windmill this friday, with the mighty Part Chimp, Comanechi, and Big Joan. Steve, Manish and myself will be DJing.

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

part chimp rocks, they should release a new album

Rizz (Rizz), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

It'll all be fine, Stevie. Just change the title to "THE NED RAGGETT SHOW OF WONDERFULNESS" and I tell ya, sales will explode.

(Also, keep me updated about Saturday!)
