I love the Fiery Furnaces. Hot Hot Heat are good, too. It seems that these days there's a plethora of hot, fiery bands, doesn't it?

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't heard Set Fire to Flames yet.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i was recently forced to listen to a group of assbaskets called the Arcade Fire (who i'd been studiously avoiding for quite some time). holy shitting panthers did they blow humongous bungholes.

¬_¬ (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The Hot Boys
Boy Sets Fire
Dogs Die in Hot Cars (I believe that's an actual band name, unless someone was playing a joke on me.)

David Allen (David Allen), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Whatever happened to the surviving members of Heatmiser?

The Fire Show. I only listened to them once so I'm not sure whether to search or destroy yet.

sleep (sleep), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going to start a band called Hot Flames Burn Heat and see if I can ride this trend to the top. Or maybe I should call it Arson Welles.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Jonathan Fire*eater, now disbanded, members from which went on to form the Walkmen. Never heard them.

Canned Heat
Hot Tuna

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

If I think of any I like, I'll report back; but until then, DESTROY 'EM ALL! The only thing more hackneyed is putting some variation of "rock" in your name. And "dead/death/dying" is a close third.

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Then it is imperative that I start a band called THE HOT BURNING DEATH FIRE ROCK EXPLOSION.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Whatever happened to the surviving members of Heatmiser?

Well, one of them became very famous and then allegedly stabbed himself in the chest in an unlikely turn of events.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 20:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Oran "Hot Lips" Page

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

He's the non-surviving one, obv. I mean the others.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Destroy: the Fireballs. Their goddamn records always look like they're gonna rock, and never do.

Aaron A., Thursday, 17 February 2005 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

All I could think about when I saw this thread was "Feel My Heat" by Dirk Diggler.

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Thursday, 17 February 2005 03:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I meant to add that that statement made me feel old. And corny. (xpost)

Aaron A., Thursday, 17 February 2005 03:28 (twenty-one years ago)

search - Hot Buttered Rhythm

You probably won't find them, though. 1 self-released CD about 7 years ago is all there is, I think.

-- Maria D. (maria...), February 16th, 2005.

Sam Coomes is half of Quasi.

Oblivious Lad (Matthew Lazowski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 07:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Aaah, and Quasi has an album (which I lurv) called Hot Shit.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I prefer Featuring Birds, but Hot Shit certainly does bring the thread full circle nicely.

Oblivious Lad (Matthew Lazowski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 23:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I prefer Featuring Birds too, but I guess the Hot thing is there. The other guy's name was Neil, I think but I can't remember what his later band was called.

"Feel My Heat"
"Granted, the tapes themselves you may own them, but the magic that is on those tapes, that fucking heart and soul that we put on those tapes that is ours and you don't own that."
