I'm desperate to hear the mixes to Krafty. I've heard radio broadcasts of the Glimmer Dub and the Phones Reality Mix and they both sound awesome. The Krafty Promo CD2 has a Riton Dub that won't be on the official CD singles or the 12". They've going for an arm and a leg on Ebay but i can't find the files online yet. Anyone find these on SLSK? Would love to here the Riton Mixes along with the others. These mixes should be awesome.

hmph. my promo CD had one fucking track. miserable sods.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 17 February 2005 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm holding. And I'ma keep holding, sorry.

JoB (JoB), Thursday, 17 February 2005 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm holding all of Biznotic's patience.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 17 February 2005 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks guys! i appreciate the effort. i got all 3 Promo discs now anyway so you can gloat over your 1 track discs a bit longer.

biznotic, Thursday, 17 February 2005 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

New Order is one act where I almost never pay attention to any of the remixes. The only ones I care about are: Quincy Jones "Blue Monday" revisit, the 'Fire Island' remix of "Regret", and of course Robie's "Sub-Culture".

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 17 February 2005 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

you're missing out on some great mixes Spencer.

Subculture - Record Mirror/Razormaid V3 (way better than any other version)

True Faith - Alternate Faith Edit
Blue Monday - Andrea Mix
Someone Like You - Most mixes of this one are good Gabriel and Dresden, Funk D'Void and James Holden
Crystal - Lee Coombs Mix/Dub/Breakfast of Champions mix
Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone Mix)
Regret - Sabres Slow n Low
Krafty - Phones Reality/Glimmer mixes/Riton Re-Dub
Spooky - Fluke mixes beat the album version
World - Perfecto Mixes better than album version
Ruined In A Day - All K-Klass mixes are great Reuinited/Ambient Mix

i could go on but you get the point. some classic mixes that you're missing if you don't look hard enough

biznotic, Thursday, 17 February 2005 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

So Biznotic, sharing those mixes that aren't found on Retro (ie, most of them) would be kinda cool...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 17 February 2005 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't get me wrong, I've actually heard all of those I think, I just have trouble caring beyond the perfection of the originals.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 17 February 2005 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i've got no problems sharing although the people posting at the top of this thread seem to not enjoy sharing.

email me privately to arrange a swap. i've got everything, including Technique demo's etc.

biznotic, Thursday, 17 February 2005 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

is there an S/D New Order remixes around? Because I'd like to hear them but there are so many. It would be a useful and fun slsk exercise at the least!

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 17 February 2005 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

hey biz, hook a brother up?

heywood jablomi (heywood), Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:12 (twenty-one years ago)

the people posting at the top of this thread seem to not enjoy sharing

er, what? yes, i can see everyone going positively wild as i offer to share the single edit of krafty. the one that you can't move for falling over out there. w00t!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:15 (twenty-one years ago)

grimly, you're 1 track promo is sad indeed. sorry to lump you in with the real culprit(s). anyone requesting trades, send me email...i don't have SLSK, and can't get the ILM room with that other thingamajiggy that was circulating recently.

biznotic, Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I am the real culprit, hate me! I made a joke at Biznotic's expense!

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I was listening to Power, Corruption, & Lies today and was pissed (as always) that "The Beach" and "Blue Monday" were practically the same song. I went on AMG and found out that the label tacked "Blue Monday" on to the U.S. release. WHY? I mean, I know they did it to improve sales, and it was probably a smart business move, but I hate that shit. They did the same thing to Black Sea. Am I alone here? I like to here albums the way the artist intended them to flow. Track sequencing is one of my favorite things about music-- you should hear my mix tapes.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

commence hate-ering! thanks, now i can focus my rage. seriously though, i was looking for those mixes desperately yesterday but i've found all 3 discs so by the time i checked here again, and saw the shitty messages, i'd already scored the discs. people beg for shit on ILM daily, by the minute actually so what's the difference in what i did and what others have done down thread? cuz you don't know me? i've got a load of New Order shit i'm sure people want that i'd be willing to trade i.e. countless soundchecks, demo's, remixes, video's in high quality formats, live shows out the wazzoo etc.

at Poortheatre:

It gets worse when you buy Brotherhood and it's got State of the Nation and BLT remixes. The horror. The only solution is to track down all original Factory pressings.

biznotic, Thursday, 17 February 2005 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

my Brotherhood has State of the Nation but not BLT remix (and it's on Factory); but the version I used to have (the US one) had neither.

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 17 February 2005 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

you have a repress or a copy from another country. the original UK pressing on Factory doesn't have the extra tracks and the original press of the US Qwest version doesn't have the extra cuts. check the used bins! i see them all the time.

biznotic, Thursday, 17 February 2005 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, it was a travesty that they added Blue Monday to PCL.

I am with Spencer: remixes. The minute someone even mentions the word "remix" or "mix" I approach with suspicion, and for New Order this goes double. The only remixes I have ever had a real appreciation for were ones done by Orbital, and a few that other folks did of Orbital. (okay there is one I sortof like of Killing Joke that I mentioned here recently - but it's just a very rare thing for me)

I think it's fine if people like remixes, but out of curiosity biznotic - when you dig these mixes, do you think of it as though you're listening to New Order or someone else's interpretation of New Order?

Bimble... (Bimble...), Friday, 18 February 2005 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, I like a lot of remixes, but I was saying with New Order, I usually get way too attached to their version to take anything else seriously.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 February 2005 01:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, that depends, Bimble. If it's the True Faith Alternate Faith Edit or BLT (Shep Pettibone), i consider that to be a "New Order" song even though Pettibone produced both and added quite a bit to final sound. If it's the Sabres mixes or the Fluke mixes, i consider those other peoples interpretations of New Order.

biznotic, Friday, 18 February 2005 02:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Personally, I don't see the big deal about extra tracks. One can always hit skip or program the disc innit.

I also don't much care for modern "remixes."

Kent Burt (lingereffect), Friday, 18 February 2005 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Most New Order remixes I have heard have been very good.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Friday, 18 February 2005 16:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Krafty - Glimmer Twins 12" Extended = Good to a point but it lacks the oomph (ie. guitars) of the original. If this had been the background to the LP version of KRafty, it would've been a classic on par with True Faith, but no joy!

Krafty - Glimmer Twins Dub - Hmm...not bad in the mix but it's about as exciting as plain toast. good when you're hungry but not that interesting every day.

Krafty - Riton Re-Dub = i was so hyped for this but it seems to be an "aphex" type remix, just another Riton track with some vocal loops from Bernard. Not bad but not as good as i was hoping. Some nice squelches though so in the mix, this could be damaging.

Krafty - Andy Green = very similar to the David Kahne mixes of 60miles in that it's basically a different EQ of the album version. Slightly diff. layout but it's basically a diff. mix of the LP version.

biznotic, Friday, 18 February 2005 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Krafty - Phones Reality = the best of the mixes. warm up your Black Strobe + Tiefschwarz vinly cuz this one should work in like a charm. the best of all the mixes.

biznotic, Friday, 18 February 2005 18:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Personally, I don't see the big deal about extra tracks. One can always hit skip or program the disc innit.

Oh certainly. I manage. But that doesn't mean someone shouldn't get slapped a few times for doing it. Heaven knows there are plenty of other New Order compilations to put Blue Monday/The Beach on if people feel the need to put it on something. Messing with PCL is just unnecessary. Especially sticking it right in the middle of the tracks.

Bimble... (Bimble...), Friday, 18 February 2005 22:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Those extra tracks were serious value-adds in the pre-download era. Now you can simply make your own CD-Rs (which are what I listen to 90% of the time) and eliminate tracks you don't want.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 18 February 2005 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
Does anyone here have or is willing to trade for the vanishing point remix that appeared on round and round CD single?

victor bieganek, Friday, 21 April 2006 11:41 (twenty years ago)

if spencer were still here I would ask him if he had heard the hardfloor mix of 'blue monday'. it is a belter, that one.
