i went to school with jason/packofrats from this band. definitely one of my favorite groups in philly right now -- part of this genre of hip hop acts that feature scenesters making fun of other scenesters.

also worth checking out:

The Yah Mos Def -- two guys who make hip hop songs out of hardcore bands and rap about philly punk. http://www.myspace.com/theyahmosdef/

VIP -- three notoriously gay men who rap about being punk dudes who wont admit they're not straight, doing drugs and "north philly hos / south philly bros / west philly ho-mos". currently in a legal battle with VAN HALEN over the cover of their "mad coke" ep. http://www.vipupyourass.com/

i dont know if its that cd or the 7" where diplo [of hlltrnx / MIA fame] made some of the beats.
