Hmmm...not sure I'd call Sorry Ma,.. orthodox hardcore, but of the two, I'd pick the Replacements.

Yep, 'mats definitely had the edge early on. Hüskers would later overtake 'em, but not until they learned to write SONGS. It sure takes balls (or at least chutzpah) to debut with a live LP, tho.

I think Land Speed Record is really good and I don't think it's generic hardcore there is a weird, frantic edge like the band is tearing itself apart.
