The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 19 February 2005 16:06 (twenty years ago)

Nice one. Is that the Notting Hill Super thing? Or something in the student mag category?
You going to the ceremony next week?

stew, Saturday, 19 February 2005 17:13 (twenty years ago)

Quench, in the student mag category. and yes I think so; you?

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 19 February 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I'm going. At the very least, it's posh nibbles and a free bar. We can have a mini-FAP. I must warn you though, I don't have a beard. :(

stew, Saturday, 19 February 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

A mini-FAP sounds good: I have to meet up with my successor, who's coming up from the provinces, at some point, and don't finish work til 6 anyway though. I think these things nominally start at 7, hmm. Email to arrange closer to the time? (email address below works, does yours?)

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 19 February 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

Got the invite today and it starts at seven with the awards towards the start of the night. The email works - should really update it to my gmail account though, which is the same username.
What with ATP, next week will be FAP-tastic!

WE WON!!!

Yes, Beard was crowned Best Music Zine at the EMAP fanzine awards on Tuesday evening. Pictures from the event will be going online later today.

Did you go along Alex?

well done Stew! We won as well, apparently. Unfortunately I was at home, in bed, with a sore throat and mild fever. Bah to inconvenient illnesses :(

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 3 March 2005 12:23 (twenty years ago)

Congrats on the award. Too bad you were struck down. I woke up the morning after the awards with a bit of a cold, which didn't make the flight home too much fun, but I'm feeling much better today.

I love the made-up quote they've attributed to me. Hilarious!

And look - we've got a indie celebrity reader!
