the one critiscm would be: not enough Lanegan.
4/5

That's a hugely good thing. Pity about him and Nick, though.

yes. little sister is unrepresentative of the rest of the record.
overall theres no crossover track on the record like lost art of keeping a secret or no one knows. however, it is a layered fun album with grooves that i for one have looked forward to since the release of the last album.
the lack of Lanegan (other than cute opener) is unfortunate - as his rasp can counterbalance Homme's falsetto nicely.
the rekkid shows no sign of missing oliveri.
dead sexy.

say huh????did you listen to the same album as i????
it's SEVERLEY lacking nick. while it may be dark, it's missing that little rough edge nick brought. it's all too clean and up-front. and the vox are WAY too out in front. the low end is nearly non-existant.overall production is pretty thin.
now, while QotSA may have always been josh, me thinks the ego's gettin to him. he always maintained that 'if the band gets too big, it's done'. well, we're there, josh. i'd really hate to see another album like this one...
still better than the new ToD, but not as good as the new bek.

maybe we're coming to the argument from different perspectives man, the psyched grooves homme lays down far outweigh the unhinged ode-to-Id that oliveri represented to me. if you get hung up on that, nae bother.
s'far as i can tell, homme can still party.

for all the oliveri lovers out there - do you reckon "everybody knows that youre insane" is refering to anyone in particular?
homme never was the most subtle...
super record.
