Long and informative. From internal evidence, it seems to have been commissioned for 5 Easy Pieces then dropped for some reason. He interviews Scott, Scott says lots of interesting things about Climate, Tilt, Dylan, etc.

“If you listen to Michael Stipes lyrics I am lucidity itself!"
Jackson reaches a little trying to find an underlying homosexual motif that he fails to capture, in my opinion, as I'd always thought of Scott's failed romanticism as being essentially androgynous.
But a very nice piece indeed, thanks for the link.

Shit, I always heard that as "consuming all women like a giant sponge" and thought it was the worst lyric he ever wrote. But no, it's fantastic. These things make me happy.

Also, does anyone else find it difficult to imagine him swearing like he does in that interview?

my favorite part of the article is DEFINTELY jackson's description of scott 4 as a redemptive/introspective album. whether or not he got at what SW meant to create is sort of irrelevant to me. theres this palpable sense of regrouping and maybe even hope? maybe im a fag for positivity, but that album just makes me feel great, and jackson captured exactly the way i feel about it.

Once I saw him in the local MVE branch, buying a Pan Sonic CD. Michael Barrymore used to go in there quite a lot.
