KoRn vs. Disturbed nu-metal skat throwdown!

I think KoRn = better song, Disturbed = better skat.

I'm partial to Disturbed's hairballin' "AWH! AWH!"

The Disturbed scat would be so much better if the singer didn't sound so damn poncey when he got down to actually singing. As it stands, kilt beats all.

There really aren't many nu-metal songs I like less than "Down with the Sickness," but that part is just miraculous.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

Amen to that.

OK, taken on their own, Disturbed's schtick (sic) pwns.

Yeah the beggining of Down with the Sickness is pretty good. I like the Richard Cheese version not because it's a piss take but because the lyrics sound genuinely disturbing when sung straightforward and upbeat; and Distrubed's forced "tortured" singing just takes away.

OOOOH-WAH-KA-KA-KA!!! owns anything Korn has ever done or will ever do.

if you've seen the Dawn of the Dead remake, youve heard a lounge music cover of "down with the sickness"

WHAT IF I'M DEAF, DID YOU EVER THINK OF THAT.

OOOOH-WAH-KA-KA-KA!!! owns anything Korn has ever done or will ever do.

Both "ARRRRRRRRRREYOUUUUUUUUUREEEEEEEEEEAAAAADDYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!??!???!" and the low-voidced "Get your boogie on"s are way cooler.

What would be low on the nu-metal soundbyte totem pole - the Scrappy Doodery in the chorus of Drowning Pool's "Bodies"?

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 04:39 (twenty years ago)

I don't remember anything about that song besides the whispering at the beginning.

Other nominees:

Fred Durst changing the "I know not everybody has got a body like you" line in "Faith" to "I know not everybody has got a body like me"

The Puddle of Mudd "I like it when you slap my ass" line in "Blurry" (if I remember correctly)

And I'm not a big fan of KoRn's "KNICK KNACK PADDYWACK GIVE A DOG A BONE THIS OLD MAN CAME ROLLING HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!" chants in "Shoots and Ladders," either.
