ABC, Wed. Feb. 23rd, 12:05am - with guests: Nascar driver Jeff Gordon, Musical guest Joanna Newsom, Pat O'Brien from "The Insider"

Is someone taping/digitizing/posting this on the web so that I don't have to actually watch the show tonight? Although I guess it would be entertaining to watch NASCAR fans react to her music.

I thought Kimmel was cancelled. Shit, I'd watch this if it wasn't on so late.

She's going to play in a few (5 to 10?) minutes EST, for those who are interested.

after this break! set your ears on "yowl!"

Well... I liked it, and she's as cute as I'd heard, but I'm not sure if "Sprout and the Bean" was the best choice. Definitely sounds best on the record with those multi-tracked vocals. I think I would have gone for "Sadie" or "Bridges and Balloons".

did anyone tape it? I was out and missed it! I really love her music. Sprout and the Bean is a great tune...did he interview her? How did the audience react?

"Sprout and the Bean" may just be my favorite tune from the album. The video of it is cool too - they have it on the Drag City website. Too bad I forgot to tape this last night.

FUCK WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 February 2005 16:29 (twenty years ago)

"Sprout and the Bean" is the single.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 25 February 2005 16:31 (twenty years ago)

She's so cute, I want to put her in my pocket.

Did anyone cry?

Sara Sherr, Friday, 25 February 2005 21:25 (twenty years ago)

Sure, dogs in pain!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 25 February 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

I keed, I keed.

I thought it was very nice even without the multivoice track thing. They gave her a classier-than-I-expected backdrop(having never seen the Jimmy Kimmel show) and she killed but in the middle of the applause the band strike up this obnoxious brassy theme music to lead into commercial. I mean I know it's network TV but at least the band should know better than to step on the performance like that.
