The verse that begins 'My Attitude of Sorrow...' is all about Ben's dislike of 4-Tet. s'fact..

is that a reference to David Toop? Is it negative? have i missed the point by even asking?

Top record all the same.

Toop is just eulogizing the act-folding that makes room for Max at the Fnac listening posts. I've been wondering for a long time who the particular act in that fantasy might be -- Fourtet seems like kind of a weird answer. I always assumed it'd be someone with a lot of "weight in the game" -- y'know, Aphex or something. But hell, if there's a whole song about Don Caballero, why not Fourtet.

... or maybe Boards of Canada: i'm sure i've seen something where he says that Mastered By Guy At The Exchange is a response to that whole downtempo, instrumental, linear thing... apparantly it's a fact that it's about Four Tet though...

I think it might relate to the way the press kiss Hebden's arse constantly where IMHO (and Ben's) he's a bit of a musical second hand car salesman.

Fridge? meh x 200000

That song also appears to namecheck Stars In Battledress (Brothers Larcombe) and the splitting up of a band called The Monsoon Bassoon.
Actually it's mainly about The Monsoon Bassoon on second reading.
