Overall I'd take Howe; his playing from The Yes Album on is elven. But solowise, Hackett smokes him. No Howe album can compare with Voyage of the Acolyte. Tough call.

They were both in GTR. GTR were awful, sadly.

Howe, I think, anyway. Hackett is a great lkead player, probably better than Howe, but Howe's rhythm parts were just unbelievably awesome. I keep listening to "South Side of the Sky", and every time I hear it, I'm thinking just what the fuck is he playing there? how did he think of that? Why does it work? etc.
