o man her new haircut just AIN'T working

j blount (papa la bas), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:42 (twenty years ago)

seriously, i'm gonna have to cross her off my hatefuck list

j blount (papa la bas), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:44 (twenty years ago)

I love the logo of the tiny guy being CRUSHED by the lightbulb of insight! I think that tiny guy is supposed to be the soul of anyone who reads her column.

Austin (Austin), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:47 (twenty years ago)

i actually thought that was a lemon.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:47 (twenty years ago)

She's a jew?

Jimmy Mod Has Returned With Spices And Silks (ModJ), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:52 (twenty years ago)

There is even a new genre of music — "emo" — associated with promoting the cutting culture.

???

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:55 (twenty years ago)

she gets a shtetl-pass.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:56 (twenty years ago)

She says it, and then music (of any kind) is never mentioned again in the article.

Fuck it, trying to follow Michelle Malkin's logic isn't worth any of my brainpower.

xpost

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:57 (twenty years ago)

i'm no fan of emo ... but DAMN! what drug are these wingnut pundits smoking or shooting up?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:57 (twenty years ago)

wait a minute, who are these jews and why are they helping to sell this book:

JWR contributor Michelle Malkin is the author of, most recently, "In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in World War II and the War on Terror". (Click HERE to purchase. Sales help fund JWR.)

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:58 (twenty years ago)

michelle malkin AND logic = DOES NOT COMPUTE

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:58 (twenty years ago)

Don't think so...IIRC, her parents were Filipino. Which makes her constant bleating about how racial profiling ROCKS and how the Japanese concentration camps of WWII were a perfectly rational and peachy-keen idea all the more baffling.

Michelle Malkin does not inhabit the same plane of reality as the rest of us, and occasionally likes to fire off the occasional dispatch from Beyond The Realm Of Logic.

Telephonething, Thursday, 24 February 2005 04:59 (twenty years ago)

I sort of assume she's a long-running peice of public performance art to see just how demented and full of non-sequiturs a right-wing pundit can be before he or she is a complete laughingstock.

Austin (Austin), Thursday, 24 February 2005 05:01 (twenty years ago)

What, is Satan's music too scary to confront that they have to aim at the wimpy whiners?

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 24 February 2005 05:02 (twenty years ago)

Also, what about the "the rap music will make your child a 'pimp' or a 'ho'" article? That's the U&K shit!

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 24 February 2005 05:05 (twenty years ago)

"ARE WE CUTTIN'?"

pastor troy (Matt Helgeson), Thursday, 24 February 2005 05:11 (twenty years ago)

But she is clearly some sort of slope...?

Jimmy Mod Has Returned With Spices And Silks (ModJ), Thursday, 24 February 2005 05:17 (twenty years ago)

what does she think of chingy?

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Thursday, 24 February 2005 06:05 (twenty years ago)

Can't she just spare us the cutter? Thanks, be here all week...

"CONOR'S GONNA CUT YA MAN! CONOR'S A BLADE MAN, MAN!"

(The slightly scary thing is that this photo, third via images.google.com for 'conor oberst,' is the one hosted at Nate's blog.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 24 February 2005 06:34 (twenty years ago)

"hardball", eh?

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Thursday, 24 February 2005 06:35 (twenty years ago)

eman (eman), Thursday, 24 February 2005 06:37 (twenty years ago)

I thought I deleted that photo from my old blog, goddammit (at points hits from images.google.com made up about 85% of my referrals)

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Thursday, 24 February 2005 06:55 (twenty years ago)

I read that the other day and thought it was kind of funny.

Cunga (Cunga), Thursday, 24 February 2005 07:41 (twenty years ago)

The internet and subcultures in general should never, ever be tackled by anyone in the mainstream media.

Heck, just talking to other people on the internet means I'm just a click away from giving too much info and being brutally raped by a pedo in a van.

Cunga (Cunga), Thursday, 24 February 2005 07:45 (twenty years ago)

ts: the cutter or the cut creator?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 24 February 2005 07:47 (twenty years ago)

maura (maura), Thursday, 24 February 2005 08:03 (twenty years ago)

i heard the most recent Get Up Kids and it made me want to stab myself in the ears, so maybe she has a point.

fsharp (fsharp), Thursday, 24 February 2005 09:42 (twenty years ago)

And who has to look after your kid when he's listened to emo?

thats right kids, rank your cuts with Cutty Ranks!

zappi (joni), Thursday, 24 February 2005 12:38 (twenty years ago)

BETTER THESE NUTTERS ARE INSIDE CUTTING THEMSELVES THAN OUTSIDE CUTTING OTHER PEOPLE, AM I RIGHT?

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Thursday, 24 February 2005 12:53 (twenty years ago)

never mind cutting - emo music will make your child play emo music in your house

coco, Thursday, 24 February 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

I love how she doesn't mention that cutting is associated with depression and makes it seem like this generations bell bottoms.

David Allen (David Allen), Thursday, 24 February 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

ihttp://bunnymen.nexuswebs.net/images/cutter7in.jpg

the cutter, Thursday, 24 February 2005 18:54 (twenty years ago)

not just another drop in the ocean

j blount (papa la bas), Thursday, 24 February 2005 18:56 (twenty years ago)

It's cool, a trend, and acceptable.

Among athletes and cheerleaders, obviously. I am still shaking my head over the fact that this article has zero instances of the word "depression" and never even implies there's a psychological basis. It's all social and peer pressure!

mike h. (mike h.), Thursday, 24 February 2005 19:10 (twenty years ago)

Her next article will be about how listening to old school rap will give you bad posture, as evidenced above. From holding giant boomboxes and wearing big chains.

Hunter (Hunter), Thursday, 24 February 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

Cutting is so painfully hip these days.

PISSCUTTER REUNION TOUR
-- Ned Raggett (ne...), June 15th, 2004.

moley (moley), Thursday, 24 February 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

Why does this remind me of the Chip's and Quincy punk episodes?

righteousmaelstrom, Thursday, 24 February 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

Pisscutter!

I heard that if you play Dashboard Confessional albums backwars, it says "Michelle Malkin has fat thighs." No wonder the slutty ho's upset.
