ITALY: PRISON TERMS IN ROCK BAND KILLINGS Two members of a heavy metal band called the Beasts of Satan were convicted in a double slaying in 1998 that fanned fears in Italy of satanic cults, as well as violence and drug use, among teenagers. The band leader, Andrea Volpe, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of a 19-year-old woman, also a member of the band, apparently on the belief that she personified the Virgin Mary, and her 16-year-old boyfriend. Mr. Volpe, who confessed to the crimes and led the police last year to the long-missing bodies, was also convicted for killing his 27-year-old girlfriend last year. Another band member, Pietro Guerrieri, received 16 years in prison for the 1998 killing, while a third man was acquitted.
does anyone know of these guys? did they make a dent in anyone's metal world? or were they just wannabes who dreamed of a better life in norway?

they don't turn up on the fairly thorough metal-archives.com site, so i'm guessing they haven't made a scratch.
