Q-Tip & the Chemical Brothers?

I think that's what the dj on Radio K said....kind of a Afrika Bambaataa thing with Q-Tip rapping....I actually thought it was pretty cool and fun....but I was more excited when I thought it was a new song by Tribe who I guess have reuinited, because I thought it would be cool if they took some new leftfield direction (yeah like that's going to happen)...but anyway I'm not even sure what this is called.....Something tells me I will be riduculed for liking this by more dance savvy ILMers though...*

*also Ned, if there is already a thread I'm sorry - I checked and came up with nothing - pinky swear.

it's called 'Galvanize' and it is, in a word, okay. nay more, nay less. but since the Chem Bros have been terrible for some time now, that's quite nice in itself.

its quite a boring beat.

See? I totally dig it but I had this feeling that everyone was going to be all "meh" on it....hmm....maybe I'm finally getting him to all this newfangled "electronica" stuff like Fatboy Slim and Prodigy!

It's a decent track, but the rest of the album has some better/more interesting stuff. There's one track w/Tim Burgess of the Charlatans that's really tops.

I like it too. First Chems track in a while I can say that about. And the Abe Duque and Switch mixes on the single are F**KING GRATE TOO

rentboy (rentboy), Friday, 25 February 2005 21:01 (twenty-one years ago)

second-worst song on the album, which is quite good.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Friday, 25 February 2005 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I love it. The syncopated cowbell during the buildup is especially fun to air-drum to while driving down the highway.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Friday, 25 February 2005 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Album really surprised me because "Galvanize" is so very mediocre.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 25 February 2005 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Galvanize certainly lives up to its name.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Friday, 25 February 2005 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

So whom did the Bros. bite for the beats on this one?

ffirehorse, Friday, 25 February 2005 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Surprisingly OK.

Almost makes me want to care about hearing Push the Button.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Friday, 25 February 2005 23:15 (twenty-one years ago)

whatever happened to that Quest reunion album that was supposed to come out last winter...? Not that I think it'll be any good, but I'm curious to see what the beginning of the hip-hop reunion phase is going to look like... (who else would be due? NWA? Public Enemy?)

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 25 February 2005 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

PE better hurry up and split then!

(Also NWA already did once, with Snoop subbing for the late Mr Wright)

thirteen years pass...

This still slaps.
