nickal1c1ous can't login for some reason right now, Saturday, 26 February 2005 18:10 (twenty-one years ago)

My stereo can't handle how thick Cee-Lo's harmonies are in the chorus. SHE PUT IT RIGHT THERE ON MY TONGUE...

"Sugar" - Trick Daddy, Lil' Kim & Cee-Lo

so many food references, Saturday, 26 February 2005 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

miccio is a fortune teller.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Saturday, 26 February 2005 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, but I'm also a Cee-Lo fanatic! Hence this track is GOLDEN!

I really like Luda's verse on this! He's a master of food references. I really want to hear him and Doom on a track together, talking about fried twinkies or something!

nicklish, Saturday, 26 February 2005 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I really need to hear this on a better stereo (ie not one with clock radio speakers that are weak like...clock radio speakers) because there is so much friggin vocal stuff going on in the chorus!

luda's verse is like a bad retarded version of wu forever's black shampoo

ffirehorse, Saturday, 26 February 2005 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Saturday, 26 February 2005 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Other Talking Heads songs for Trick Daddy $$ to sample:

"Thugs in a Lifetime"; "Let's Go (To a Building on Fire)"

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Saturday, 26 February 2005 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

This single is fantastic. That and the new Mike Jones, best things going on current hip hop radio.

Jeff Sumner (Jeff Sumner), Saturday, 26 February 2005 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

The Children's Song!!!!

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 27 February 2005 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'd have "I Cry" above "Ain't a Thug" but i like al's list. And Children's song would have to be on it.

djdee (djdee2005), Sunday, 27 February 2005 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

when he was on Rap City the other day he mentioned "Children's Song" as one of the possibilities for next single. I can't really listen to it, though. coming right after "I Wanna Sang" on the album it feels redundant and not nearly as good.

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 27 February 2005 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Al, you are living in the land of OTM today.

miccio (miccio), Sunday, 27 February 2005 16:42 (twenty-one years ago)

haha we're the new Ned/Dan tagteam dude.

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 27 February 2005 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

haha!

I just put on Thug Matrimony the other day and the schizo flip between the different suites on the album ("fuck a pussy nigga/save the children/fuck a pussy bitch/I luv u so much/THE SOUTH!") is not aging gracefully with me.

"Sugar" remains too awesome for words.

miccio (miccio), Sunday, 27 February 2005 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

well, sans Cure bootlegs and bootyflakes.

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 27 February 2005 17:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope.

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 27 February 2005 17:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Standing On A Beach and Galore is plenty Cure for me, thanks

miccio (miccio), Sunday, 27 February 2005 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I love "Sugar," but seriously, it's "Dro In The Wind" part 2.

billstevejim, Sunday, 27 February 2005 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

haha we're the new Ned/Dan tagteam dude.

We'll yet get you to function as a proper duo re:Cure love. But agree, bootyflakes are not for all.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 27 February 2005 18:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I first heard this on the radio in Knoxville, in December. It was so good I wanted to jump out of my skin.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 27 February 2005 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, I keep forgetting to note how much I hate the "J.O.D.D." tack-on at the end of the video. "J.O.D.D." is a fine track, but as an addendum to "Sugar" with the white suite and ass-dancers it sounds like a sop to his pimp-demandin' audience who might worry "Sugar" means he's gone soft. Boo.

miccio (miccio), Sunday, 27 February 2005 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I never thought of it as a response/rebuttal to "Sugar"'s softness, but that's only because I don't think it's very soft. thematically they're pretty similiar, one's just a little more tuneful. I do think it's funny that the video edit changes "suck suck on da clit" to "lick lick on da clit", though.

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 27 February 2005 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Its weird that they don't edit "clit"

djdee (djdee2005), Sunday, 27 February 2005 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

not that i'm complaining.

djdee (djdee2005), Sunday, 27 February 2005 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

two months pass...
