Every drummer should have one, right? I mean, even Morrissey's drummer's got a gong. Bands that would be improved by gong-wielding drummers: The Strokes, Belle and Sebastian, Keane.

The sections of Sonic Youth's "Pacific Coast Highway" that sound like Chinese gongs are absolutely fantastic. Is there much Chinese music that makes use of that kind of playing? I mean the sort of stuff they play during Dragon dances.

i haven't heard this but i played in the Nakatani Gong Orchestra once and it was really fun!
