Classic - and that goes for the 12" as well

I preferred "Tell It To My Butt".

Well, as I said on another thread, it IS better than the song Green Gartside of Scritti Politti did with her. Still, all those break dancing years of puberty at school really burned me out on this song. Not that I break danced, I don't mean that. But in the auditorium they would just play this song so many times. That was when Midnight Star's "Freak-A-Zoid" was big, too. Good god, I haven't thought of that in years! Hahahaha.

Still, I'll lean more towards classic than dud for this one.

I think you were called Joward Hones on another thread, weren't you?

Rurple PaIN.

Classic, but it's all about everything but the chorus, especially the "I wouldn't lie to you baby" bit.

I love that part!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 27 February 2005 08:56 (twenty-one years ago)

That's my favourite bit too. Was I gramatically unclear? It's 9 in the morning, the children are shouting at me.

Classic tune. Classic video.

Very undudly! One of the best songs I've ever heard that has both Stevie Wonder and Melle Mel on it!

peepee (peepee), Sunday, 27 February 2005 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Classic, though at the time Ms. Khan disowned Mel's rap as something tacked-on against her wishes.

The synth melodies following the middle-8 and during the lead-out choruses are the best bits.

not my favorite song of the era, but still classic.

Classic, classic, classic.

I don't think that I've ever met one person who doesn't like this song. One can hear it for just a second and immediately have their mood improved. Nice work by Stevie, by the way.

I liked "Own the Night" off of the Miami Vice soundtrack. That song is exactly what two in the morning on a hot summer night in 1985 felt like.
