Rap-A-Lot Records- Free’s Pimp-C w/ new album “The Sweet James Jones Stories”- 03-01-05
Houston, Tx. - Chad Butler a.k.a “Pimp-C” is scheduled to unleash his first solo project on Rap-A-Lot Records. “The Sweet James Jones Stories” is due to hit the block first quarter of 2005 as part of Rap-A-Lot’s starting line up under the new distribution / marketing deal w/ (Warner Music Group) WGM/Asylum. Fueled by the blazing lead single “Hogg in the Game”, a certified club banger and “Is’a Playa” feat. Twista, Bun-B, & Z-RO guaranteed to command national air play.
Pimp-C – “You can use my style but, you gone pay me a fee”, known for his distinctive southern slang, has been featured on industry classics such as “Pocket Full of Stones” from the film “Menace to Society” to 3-6 Mafia’s southern classic “Sippin on Some Sizzrup” and Jay-Z’s hit single “Big Pimp’n” are all chapters in the life of Pimp-C . With six (UGK) Underground Kingz albums under his belt, Pimp-C has influenced and is known as a legend by Southern rap acts such as T.I., The Young Bloodz, 3-6 Mafia, Lil Flip, & David Banner just to name a few. You will often here the Hip-Hop industry paying their homage to this pioneer with the term “Free Pimp C” being shouted out across the air waves and award shows around the nation.
J.Prince – On this album Pimp C shows how versatile he actually is. He is singing his own hooks on this solo album, which is what UGK fans haven’t seen him do before. We were working on this album before he was incarcerated. In his rhymes, he gives those true UGK fans what they would be expecting to hear. These will be all new unreleased songs given to you by Rap-A-Lot Records.
