Krist Novoselic: Not the Dumbest Guy in Rock

Someone, I think it was here, leveled that accusation (or one very similar) at him recently, and it gave me fantods of righteous indignation. Okay, the man is not the brightest bulb in the box, but the dumb act was part of his schtick. See the Nardwuar interview, as well as his hilarious "Right here in the back of the plane I'm gonna be as safe as can be" camcorder onanism on 'Live! Tonite! Sold Out!' (actually, don't see that one, but if you have seen it...). I'd even venture that the notorious airborne bass guitar autoinjury might have, on some level, been less accidental than another self-deprecating gag.
