tomorrow could be a big day.

the day i finally get my proper stereo system out of its back of beyond corner of the dining room and installed into the fully finished extension. for months now i have waited for this day. i have one piece of Ikea madness to complete to house the system, and then i have to decide.

what is the first record to put on and experience the total joy... this may even include a record deck being revived.

people i need direction.

an old classic for that nostalgia flood, or something fresh and dynamic ..

i have 12 hours if all goes according to plan .. then my world is complete.

suspect it could be the new Tom Vek track, or IDC newbie to test the bass bins ..

how would you decide ?

an old classic, every time. wherever possible, i test new kit with "ahead II" by wire, because it has ace stereo panning and generally kicks ass.

mentioning Legendary actually points me in the direction that'll i'll probably fall for.
Bowie.

nothing too exciting .. but Lodger is bound to hit the system within a matter of minutes of completion. those opening few bars of Fantastic Voyage ...

ahhh ..

game over.

(perhaps)

The two testers I remember are "Communication Breakdown" and Aphex Twin's singles collection that's the total time, whatever the fuck that's called.
