ffirehorse, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:14 (twenty years ago)

All surviving North Am humans are to gather tomorrow at Caliph Stencil's Piracy Funds Terrorism compound for the prearranged counteroffensive.

Harry Tuttle, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:14 (twenty years ago)

LOL!

-the-night-watch- (-the-night-watch-), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:43 (twenty years ago)

I hear Kevin Shields contributes guitar to two tracks on that one. (x-post)

Aaron A., Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:43 (twenty years ago)

There's 2 good tracks on this new Squarepusher record. The rests just noise.

Webb Friendly (Webb Friendly), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:43 (twenty years ago)

There's one good track on this new Wolf Eyes record. The rest's just guitar-pop BS.

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 23:45 (twenty years ago)

This New Pornographers record is just shit, all the way through.

Band Aid 2007 line-up confirmed - MC Knott, The Vilified, Robot Bras, The Kipling, 17 Discreet Charmed Fans, Liam Bison, Ova, Luke Haines, Brigitte Paedogasm, the original Shed Seven line-up and Fran Healy.

I can't believe Shed Seven have lowered themselves to this. Right on the back of their twelve Wembley Stadium shows. Rumour has it Fran says "ooooohhh" this time.

Webb Friendly (Webb Friendly), Thursday, 3 March 2005 00:29 (twenty years ago)

I just hope it generates a lot of money for the poor starving children in Las Vegas.

Webb Friendly (Webb Friendly), Thursday, 3 March 2005 00:30 (twenty years ago)

You just want to write for my magazine. Well, haha, I am now going to fuck all your girlfriends, wives and daughters and siblings. anyone gonna pick up the C.love best of?
hard to make a best of outta 2 albums...

edde-bot#43, Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:08 (twenty years ago)

I don't know what's more amazing -- Ocasek's original production work, or that leaked RJD2 vs. Avalanches album-length remix. Either way, the Strokes sure as shit earned their Time cover. (And dig the Killing Joke t on Moretti -- whose idea was that, I wonder.) Too bad the Hold Steady's 5th album is coming out next week, which bumps Julian and Pals down to 3rd on my P&J ballot (well, maybe second if I get sick of the Wu album. Which I won't. Not with 4 tracks' worth of MF Doom production).

Stupornaut mK 3 (natepatrin), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:17 (twenty years ago)

why are you guys still doing this typing bullshit? we're trading discographies (via MPEG-21) with our webcam headsets over at CamToCam/Music room right now.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:33 (twenty years ago)

Green Gartside's finally releasing the follow-up to Anomie and Bonhomie.

Ian Riese-Moraine (Eastern Mantra), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:33 (twenty years ago)

Nic de Teardrop (Nicholas), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:50 (twenty years ago)

Man, the post-crunk coming outta Venus is soo HAWT, right now.

Nic de Teardrop (Nicholas), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:53 (twenty years ago)

Now that science has progressed to the point where we can bring people back from the dead, which musicians would you reanimate to form a super-group?

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 3 March 2005 01:53 (twenty years ago)

I re-animated Miles Davis the other day... wasn't what i had hoped. He called me 'a goddamn piece of jive white turkey meat' and took my wallet. oh well.

Speaking of which, did you Scott Walker Unplugged on TRL^3 yesterday? DOPE!

poortheatre (poortheatre), Thursday, 3 March 2005 02:09 (twenty years ago)

Wait, what's a browser?

lurk@lurk.com, Thursday, 3 March 2005 02:37 (twenty years ago)

You mean Pitchfork/AOLTime/Microsoft/McDonalds?

lurk@lurk.com, Thursday, 3 March 2005 02:40 (twenty years ago)

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 3 March 2005 11:39 (twenty years ago)

Sven Bastard (blueski), Thursday, 3 March 2005 11:41 (twenty years ago)

Any truth in the rumours that Stephen Malkmus has got a three album deal with Fluxblog? Should be just the commercial boost his career needs...

mike t-diva (mike t-diva), Thursday, 3 March 2005 11:50 (twenty years ago)

Will Oldham, Joanna Newsom and Devendra Banhart are much better "AMerican Idol" judges than the last batch

Are you sure? I liked J0hn D@rn!3ll3's banter with Peaches.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

So glad that Purge: The Forensics Suite Britney's long-held up collaboration with Skinny Puppy, finally got an official release. Her cover of "Smothered Hopes" is pure electro-pop bliss.

Tantrum (Tantrum The Cat), Saturday, 5 March 2005 19:48 (twenty years ago)

Has Geir's new album leaked yet?

ILMMMMMMMMM, Saturday, 5 March 2005 19:54 (twenty years ago)

No, but Ned Raggett Reads the 'Left Behind' Series is on slsk

Aaron A., Saturday, 5 March 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

From 'Grime in 2007'

Has anyone heard Snow White Midget and the Seven Dwarves yet? Starring Lady Sovereign and featuring Dizzee, Wiley, Dirty, Sharkie, Tinchy, Scratchy and Chris Martin. Apparently they did it as a surprise encore at the Royal Variety Performance.

Incidentally, anyone know what's up with Blissblog? All I can see is a black screen with THIS IS ALL MY FAULT in big letters.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 5 March 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

By the way, I saw the video for Dizzee's 'Ob La Di Ob La Da' the other day. Hilarious! That bit with the melons...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 5 March 2005 20:25 (twenty years ago)

Brian McFadden's new single 'Saying Mass Fucking Ass' is apparently all about how he knew the new Pope was homosexual right from the start. Apparently Brian has gone on record as saying he received his personal invite to Rome on pink Vatican headed paper.

And I thought we'd see an end to all this when Bono got shot...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 5 March 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

my audioscrobbler top lists haven't been updated in over a week. but i can't wait until they get new servers.

hurrahuzzah, Sunday, 6 March 2005 00:39 (twenty years ago)

Hopefully Audioscrobbler will not be closed by RIAA, like Soulseek was.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 6 March 2005 00:48 (twenty years ago)

Looking forward to hearing Nigel Godrich's work with Coldplay, after their work with Timbaland just didn't work out and they had to sack him...

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 6 March 2005 00:52 (twenty years ago)

Can't wait for the Geir/MIA collab

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Sunday, 6 March 2005 03:49 (twenty years ago)

Who's MIA?

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Sunday, 6 March 2005 05:01 (twenty years ago)

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Sunday, 2 October 2005 19:16 (twenty years ago)

I haven't heard the new album yet, but am I the only one who thinks it's really gauche for Paul to say Ringo's "spirit" was present in the studio?

A|ex P@reene (Pareene), Sunday, 2 October 2005 19:48 (twenty years ago)

Babyshambles will complete their debut LP next month!!

zeus (zeus), Sunday, 2 October 2005 20:30 (twenty years ago)

I detest the word "babyshambles" with a passion.

blunt (blunt), Sunday, 2 October 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

NME has folded.

emapped, Sunday, 9 October 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

I think Jack White's solo album may be the rockingest thing ever recorded by a Scientologist. And yes, I know David Yow's one too.

casey (t. fiend), Sunday, 9 October 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

TS: Jack White's solo work vs. Meg White's solo work.

I never could stand the Arctic Monkeys but it's sad to see Alex Turner destroy himself with Substance D.

rock and roll for the rock and roll soul (nate_patrin), Sunday, 7 January 2007 02:01 (eighteen years ago)

The songs from the album Trentemoller produced for Madonna's latest album really sound good on this new live dvd of hers.

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 7 January 2007 02:08 (eighteen years ago)

eight years pass...

the presidential campaign is starting to heat up. hillary could be cool, but i'm really into obama. remember his 2004 dem convention speech? can't imagine who repubs are going to run. like who is going to follow george w bush.

anyway, lost is on, so...

jaymc, Saturday, 30 May 2015 05:45 (ten years ago)

you know who i'll be sad to see go? tony blair. feel like last year's critically acclaimed film the queen really showed a side of him that we haven't seen. we americans, that is. probably the brits know all about him. anyway, end of an era.

jaymc, Saturday, 30 May 2015 05:48 (ten years ago)

but even if hillary doesn't get the nomination, how about that nancy pelosi?

jaymc, Saturday, 30 May 2015 05:49 (ten years ago)

do you guys have iPhones yet?

jaymc, Saturday, 30 May 2015 05:52 (ten years ago)

don't tase me, bro

jaymc, Saturday, 30 May 2015 05:58 (ten years ago)
