wow.
They're one of those bands with one great song (Cutt Off) and a load of mediocre-to-unlistenable ones. At least they try and do something vaguely original with their SOUND, which evokes the dark, resigned apocalypse of a pulsating nightclub. Shame about the songwriting, though.

That is evoked perfectly the sound of Kasabian, and it is their strongest selling-point. Like I said, all they needed was a decent songwriter and a bit of variation and they'd have written a decent first album.

Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track. An incredibly excellent comparison via Bluesky:
https://bsky.app/profile/craighamilton.bsky.social/post/3lvvxvzbsyk2h
This led a friend to post this:
I was at some festival walking by on my way to another stage, when I heard the absolute worst lyrics I ever heard, paired with shrunken arena rock. I had to stop to witness such a complete trainwreck--and then quickly went on my way. Sorry for the pain I'm about to cause
He then shared these lyrics. I want to hurt these people.

The lyrics would be passably ignorable if it weren't for the interview quotes for this album e.g. "It's been 15 or 16 years since the last truly classic album, but I think we've done it".
