donut debonair (donut), Saturday, 5 March 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

Other than sampling/turntablism, I don't think that Ralph Myerz' lineup consists of much more than drums and bass.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Saturday, 5 March 2005 23:09 (twenty years ago)

These days, the minutemen.

They call it Minutemen Duet or something, don't they?

Death From Above have organ as well as/instead of bass sometimes.

Jon Hope (jarge), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

Nomeansno, more often than not. The Wright Brothers!

This reminds me of how I wanted to start a new "Musical Duos" thread of my own, and keep it "pure". (i.e. Ween, Yaz, Suicide, Eric B & Rakim, etc. No Hall & Oates, no Pet Shop Boys, no Righteous Brothers, all of whom relied on BACKING MUSICIANS.)

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:30 (twenty years ago)

er, PSB relied on backing musicians but Ween didn't? Up until when?
