"O My Soul" is one of my favourite Big Star tracks - it's even got a GROOVE! - but come ON. TSRTS is one of the great Jimmy Page multi-guitar orchestravaganzas, along with Stairway and Achilles' Last Stand and Ten Years Gone.
[Sidenote: Years ago, I remember listening to it while high and being convinced that the first solo was from an uncredited Steve Howe. And another time, talking to an equally-toasted friend, trying to sell him my dumb revelation that TSRTS was the "exact midpoint between the Byrds and Sonic Youth". It made sense(milla) at the time.
