one of them sounds like he was held back quite a few years. Either that or he is a very mature kid.

Modest Mouse's "Float On" or the Floaters' "Float On"? Let me pretend for a moment that it's the latter.

I love in the commercial for the original, when an awkward 10 year old slam dunks on a plastic basketball hoop that is actually shorter than he is and says "Kidz bop gets me PUMPED UP."

David Allen (David Allen), Monday, 7 March 2005 21:34 (twenty years ago)

oh yeah, and their "hey ya" was much more fun than outkast's!

Who are the Kidz Bop adults?

JoB (JoB), Monday, 7 March 2005 22:07 (twenty years ago)

this is really artistically superior to the original. listen to the distant wailing distorto-guitars at 1:18 and the lonley kid-a blooping at 2:30! can you say 'emotional gravitas', kids? ! plus getting a number of children to sound resigned about their collective future always works (hello langley schools, hello kanye's "they don't know").

Best song ever?

"Yea!"

a good cap to the WTFness of this song being popular in the first place, but not too revealing beyond the first listen or so.
