Okay

so on saturday i was in Plymouth (uk) looking through some vinyls in a shop and low and behold i see about 5/6 Galaxie 500 12". I didn't have any money on me and an impatient friend so i cursed my luck and just left without noting down what exact vinyls they were or even how much (i think they were £4/£5 each).

Do you reckon it would be worth going back for these? I'm pretty sure they were either singles or 12" as they were in the 'Indie Singles 12"' section. I have a couple of albums somewhere on cd and im pretty sure i didn't see them amoungst these.

fuck...that should say advice. I'm tired.

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 00:12 (twenty years ago)

depends... do you like Galaxie 500?

I'm pretty sure they only had two 12 inch singles, Fourth Of July and Blue Thunder. If they are the albums you'll easily make your money back if they are in good condition.

from GEMM:

FOURTH OF JULY - ROUGH TRADE 12" VG+ $111.00
BLUE THUNDER - ROUTH TRADE 12" VG+ $96.00

yeah

but i have no idea how hard these are to come across. If they were easy to find i probably wouldn't bother this time because i'm kind of cash strapped.

(xpost i wish i spent more time remembering what they were)

okay.

im going back for these.

They are not worth that gemm price, not even close. They usually go for around 20 US dollars I think.

they're both great records, but depending on how cheap they are you may be better off just buying the cd remasters that have all the tracks appended to them.

holy fuck I bought the "Blue Thunder" 12" for $3. Actually that same day I picked up One Fire and This Is Our Music on LP for five bucks at the same place. Aron's Records, thank you.

If you see the 'Rain' 7" on Caff then get excited.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 00:45 (twenty years ago)

if you see ANY Caff singles. get excited

rentboy (rentboy), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 00:47 (twenty years ago)

i should frame my copy for constant excitement

xpost

i agree. it took me five years to collect them all

I've got an Orchids single on Caff. I don't even like it, but I'm in a constant state of excitement when I think about it.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 00:48 (twenty years ago)

Yeah that Orchids single is pretty bad and I LOVE the Orchids.
but still, it's CAFF! i'd give my right arm, um, no. ok maybe my right pinky for a copy.

rentboy (rentboy), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 00:56 (twenty years ago)

Shit if you have Caff singles you don't like why not sell them for the $$$ and buy something you do like!! Better still, if you have the Razorcuts one, give it to me!

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 16:19 (twenty years ago)

i like the orchids single. in fact the galaxie 500 one is probably my least favourite after the manic street preachers one.
