"Fleetwood Mac Live" - Classic or Dud?

I saw it for $4 yesterday; I bought a Luna album instead. Should I regret it? I've heard the unhinged version of "Not That Funny." How are the new songs? I've never seen them collected in any fashion.

is this the live disc from the 70s? doesn't one of the girls start crying before they sing Landslide?

The JaXoN 5 (JasonD), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 23:01 (twenty years ago)

yeah - with the Buckingham/Nicks lineup.

this was the first fleetwood mac album i heard in full. i'm sure now i'm familiar with all the albums it probably sounds wretched but i enjoyed it a lot at the time.

i had a 2-cd live thing from 1980. the performances may have been good but i'd never know because the mastering was so shit it was unlistenable. is this the same one?

JBR OTM - this is badly in need of a remastering/upgrade. Now I'm trying to remember if the cuts that were used on the ca. '95 FM box set were remastered at that time. . .will have to check.

I've been looking for it for $3 .. but I haven't seen it... just for archival purposes .. and "Oh Well"

two years pass...

It's this thing, man this live 1980 thing I found on s1sk. "One more night" is the stuff of gods. "Over and Over" - Music just doesn't get any better than this. Take your Elvis dolls and go home.

It's all about "Farmer's Daughter" and the solo on "I'm So Afraid".

harveyw, Sunday, 22 July 2007 11:38 (eighteen years ago)

Its pretty good.

I know, right?, Sunday, 22 July 2007 12:25 (eighteen years ago)

The version of "Not That Funny" is psychotic.

my favourite mac album, and the first i ever owned. 'landslides' blows my mind!!!

stevie, Sunday, 22 July 2007 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

Alfred - "Not That Funny" is not one of the songs featured on what I've got, here. Am I missing it or are you thinking of some other song?

Bimble, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 05:25 (eighteen years ago)

No, unless you have a different live 1980 thing (yeah, found it! ; ) ) Lindsey goes completely mental and starts cackling and genereally doing some freaky shit. Its like six minutes long with all the craziness.

"Farmer's Daughter" is cool, but seems to have been recorded at a soundcheck. It's a treat to hear a live version of "Don't Let Me Down Again" from the Buckingham Nicks LP.

The Deacon, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 16:03 (eighteen years ago)

Oh wait...it's coming to me now. I couldn't fit it all on one disc so I had to chuck a few songs. I think I pretty much did this at random while drunk, though, so don't hold it against me.

Bimble, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:10 (eighteen years ago)

If you could email this abridgement I'd be most grateful :)

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:21 (eighteen years ago)

Really? Well I'd assume you had the whole thing already and wouldn't need that, but if you really want it I'll send it.

Bimble, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:44 (eighteen years ago)

My tape copy snapped years ago.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:46 (eighteen years ago)

I got the whole thing, If you want?

I know, right?, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:53 (eighteen years ago)

EXCELLENT

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 03:08 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, but I am going to bed because it is half four, but tomorrow....

I know, right?, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 03:23 (eighteen years ago)

His tape copy snapped! *sniff* Well that's a sob story if I ever heard one. There are fewer sad moments in this world than a man with a snapped cassette tape, and I'm not being sarcastic. Alfred, I'm going to see if I can help you out here...let's see where the hell did I put my password to that upload site?
