I found this on the Poppolar Records website:

Tiger Baby - Lost in You

[ 2005 ] Tiger Baby are another great new group to come from Denmark (check out also Labrador). This album will be a delight to any fans of the early 90s Saint Etienne, the more upbeat Ivy and those great dancey pop songs with lovely female vocals. Highly recommended!!

Looks kind of exciting to me. Does anybody know this band? Are they any good?

But see that's one of those reviews of Scandinavian-type bands that 10% of the time wind up good and 90% of the time sound like something Minty Fresh passed on in 1997.

most everything the pop polar guy recommends is great though.

I remember getting some MP3s off their website last year. I hadn't listened to them when I downloaded them (and can't seem to access the site to see if they are still there) but iTunes tells me that I at least gave a good rating to their track Chinese Fairytale. The St Etienne/Ivy comparisons are apt.

OMG I've just downloaded 'Chinese Fairytale', I like it so much it's frightening. The only think I'm not crazy about is the vocals (a bit whispery) but WOW!

Now I've just listened to 'Shy'. It's fantastic too! Or maybe it's just that I'm a big fan of the early St. Etienne-ish sound.

You can also listen to more of the new stuff (including a cover of DM's "Strangelove") on their MySpace site.

You're not alone. (I rated it over Anniemal)

I really liked that album too, but I didn't quite know what to make of it. I was surprised it was Danish, actually.

three weeks pass...
New album out today. They've gone more electro this time. Not sure if it's as good as Lost In You, but there are definitely a quite a few beautiful, catchy melodies in it. I don't know why popjustice has ignored them so far; maybe they see them as indie.
