Iliad Books in North Hollywood, next to Odyssey Video. No relation. At the intersection of Vineland and Lankershim. Huge used bookstore, excellent selection.

Alias Books in West L.A., just around the corner from the Nuart Theater on Sawtelle, half a block south of Santa Monica Blvd. Smaller, but very good selection I think, and half the time if you take up a $6 book they'll knock off a buck or two.

Counterpoint Books on Franklin near Bronson, on that trendy stretch by Beachwood Canyon. Slightly more expensive, the selection is spotty, but they have lots of books. Tons of used records too, but they're priced for the people who come down from the hills, not up from Hollywood.

Other Times on Pico is a small but good used bookstore.

That place in Long Beach that Elvis T always mentions?

Acres Of Books on Long Beach Blvd. in downtown Long Beach is the best used bookstore in Southern California. Period.

The Iliad and Koma are #2 and #3
