As a thank you to a friend I am compiling the most skronkalicious, shard-tastic guitar soundz by my favorite axe grinders onto an 80" CDR.

Keeping in mind the typical considerations to flow and time limitations, any ideas as to what should be on this instead or additionally, or how otherwise improved? What am I missing/forgetting? (And why is a given blank cassette or disk, whatever the length, ALWAYS 1:28 too short?)

You need to scrap this project and just give him the Guitarrorists comp from 15 years ago.

What's my best Rudolph Grey bet besides w/ Blue Humans? I have one record (NYC 1980)...it's all I've heard or own. AMG is not cooperating. What's a good purchase?

Same with Takayanagi/New Direction Unit: what's a good jumping-off point?

My favorite Rudolp Grey records are the first New Alliance EP Transfixed (the two New Allaince LPs, one called Mask of Light and one called Clear to Higher Time, are very good, too) and his playing on the Arthur Doyle Live @ the Cooler CD.

for IRA KAPLAN i'd select 'blue line swinger' instead. i would also buy this compilation were it mersh available.

Right on Tim, I'm going Rudolph Grey hunting (for myself). Thank you.

Stevie — Yes! Blue Line Swinger gives me Thorgasms! Unfortunately it clocks in at an uncompilable 9:18.

Life is full of compromises.
