Does anybody know a good way to restore deleted files on OS X?

Well, I realized the situation isn't as dire as it seemed. I've still got most of it backed up on an external hard drive. I had forgotten about that. I'm tempted to leave most of it be for now, though. The size of the whole thing was getting ridiculous, and there's always CDs.
Still, I had just downloaded Sparks...
