Prick Decay/Decaer Pinga rox. One of the few bands I have actually sent a letter to. And Dylan replied (via email). Kool. Did an interview with him and strangely it is the most successful thing on our site. More popular than Slipknot. hah!

Which site would this be, Helen?

I am SO GLAD that Shrimper is getting around to compiling some of their tape releases on CD. (At least, I hope that's still happening.)

I have some Metronome tapes (from the Tape-Tape label) that I'm sure are just as good as his popperific BBPTC release.

Y'know what? I been involved in at least 30 different Tape Swap Pyramid Scheme thingees in the last 20 years. But all the ones I participated in after 1997 didn't amount to anything (Sent a mixtape to the top of the list but got no tapes in return.) What I'm wondering is: Did the Napsterclone kill the tape-trading hobby?
(If this is too offtopic, I can split this off to a new thread.)

you know, that tape, with the weird-ass cover? with the spray paint? that one was good.

yeah, betley apparently went under recently - definitely a shame as he seemed to have some kind of aesthetic judgment, unlike some. my favorite cassette release is either ashtray navigation's "the black clock" (sorta sounds like germany, 1971) or armpit's "ruby" (sorta sounds like early dead c if they rocked out). but neither of those is early 90s, when i reckon it was much 'cooler' to be into that stuff. i was into metal.

i made the mistake of throwing out huge amounts of these tapes over the years.... only to find later that people were paying HUGE amounts of money for them later........

Used to have a whole pile of Cabbage Boy cassettes (Si Begg) which he used to send me... chucked em all years ago.. Doh!

The early Slabco tapes I've heard are messily interesting. Toytown Tapes had heaps of classic stuff - Stinky Fire Engine, Cat's Miaow, first Sukpatch tape, They Make Jewels At Home... plus the Toytown Compilations were full of weird and fantastic craziness.

I think I've still got some Xpressway cassettes somewhere. I have those Toytown tapes, some Shrimper tapes...I oughta dig out this stuff.
