In keeping with the spirit of the Rock Defined thread:

Assume the persona of the artist (presumably rock, but feel free to be creative). Define rock for us. For instance, if I were Little Richard, I would say "I am rock. Everybody who made it big since I hit the stage will tell you that, they told you that by copying me exactly. Prince, Michael, everyone."

Extra credit: Percentage of artists who define rock as themselves.
