I thought Nelly Furtado was a girl ... ?

Don't you see! It's fabulous!

"I'm like a bird" = "I'm like a girl"

Ergo: "He had me fooled."

See!? It's fun with the contrasting language differences between Americans and the English!

I get it!

Mod's only being kind because I praised In Review in an email. Well, hopefully not, but I'm still ashamed that I'm proud of that line, if you get what I mean...

Greg, I think people might have been wary because Pop-Eye has a history of factual errors (especially when I get to talk about stuff I haven't heard). I think Tanya had the best line on Ms Furtado anyhow.

Feel free not to laugh at any of my poor jokes this week about the Gorrilaz. And can I also add HAHAHAHAHAHA to the Manics...

Just out of interest, am I the first person to mention The Weakest Link to the Americans out there?

Greg, Monday, 12 March 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

on nbc the other day, i saw a commercial. it was an outdoors scene and focused on a speaker that repeated, in a british accent:

"you ARE the weakest link. goodbye!"

and then a logo came up -- the weakest link -- and the announcer said something about lives changing and how we've never seen anything like it, but didn't say what it was.

so what is it?

It's a general knowledge quiz show that's kind of a cross between millionaire (they certainly nicked the music off it) and big brother, sort of anyway. Actually that makes it sound a lot better than it really is, cos it's pretty rubbish, yet i still seem to end up watching it most days when i get in from work (mainly because it's not as bad as wheel of fortune or neighbours).
