holy shit, fuck this website. i just got a nasty threatening message from a site admin over a comment i posted nearly a year ago. my comment contained no threats, no calls to violence, no hate speech, and not even any profanity; it simply was a strong dissenting opinion.

everything on the site is a censored form of something else afaic.

never thought i'd be one of those 'free speech!!' assholes, but they're not really giving me much choice!

Thought this might be a bump about all of the malicious pop-up ads they've had lately. That sucks though, I stay far away from the forums there.

nope, not a forum comment! album page comment from nearly a year ago! and i'm just now today being scolded for it.

i don't wanna get into the specifics of it, but here's an allegory (based on true story):

at least on ilx when i shit talked madonna mercilessly, none of what i posted was edited/deleted by mods and i've never been threatened with a ban for holding overall negative opinions about madonna's music.

rym doesn't have similar policies. and the worst part is: i'm a nobody user with no clout.

i received an email notification for this warning as well. again: this was in response to a three sentence review comment from months ago.

i responded to the warning by requesting to delete my user account and artist page. if you have a rym account and you hate me, feel free to highjack either or both pages with nothing but the worst hate speech you can conjure in order to get them deleted faster.

i want no affiliation with an organization that polices opinions on creative works.

okay, my user account has been "suspended" but my artist page is still there. if anyone with an active account wants to do me a solid and nominate the artist page for faster removal, please do. or, if you don't care about your own account, just litter the comments and reviews with hate speech and it'll come down real fast.

i don't expect anyone to ever listen to my music with any semblance of seriousness, but if they do and they truly hate it, they should be allowed to say so whenever and wherever they like. they potentially won't be able to do that on this joke of a platform, so i want nothing to do with it.
