My Fuckenering CMJ discs

I ripped all of those old comp discs and saved it all to two DVDs - takes up less space for the 5% of tracks that I still may find a use for someday.

Right.

Anyway, here are the tracklistings for each DVD:

So I'm offering copies to anyone who wants them - not that it's any great treasure, but it is what it is. The catch is, it can't make me poor. So that means blanks & postage, or maybe suggest a place where I can upload a torrent, or some other idea you've got ... The other catch is that it can't take me the rest of my life to make copies - so in the absurd scenario where everyone on ILM wants a copy ... uh, we'll see..

Post here if you want em though ...

Nostalgitron 3000!

The best CMJ disc EVER = the one I never got in the 1st issue I ever bought (w/ Velocity Girl on the cover). Alls I remember is that it had ALASTAIR GALBRAITH on it.

I have a little bit of horn-blowing to do here. CMJ sells (or sold in those days, who knows what their policy is now) tracks on those discs to major labels for major money, smaller labels for less money. When I started working there 1993, part of my agreement with them was that I could fill any unsold time on the discs with good stuff from tiny labels, for which we wouldn't charge them, and that I could arrange to put at least one free small-indie track on every month's CD, regardless. I think I was most proud of the one that had both Heavy Vegetable and Liliput.

Douglas (Douglas), Friday, 1 April 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

And thank you for that one. I wouldn't have gotten into Liliput if not for you, mate.

Douglas! You broke my wallet! Thanks! :)

one year passes...
I was an avid collector of CMJ & the CDs before the rise of music blogs, where I pretty much go to discover music nowadays... but anyways, I had so many of those damn discs and I lost them during a move! *cry*

When I saw your list, I got all teary eyed. I would love to hear some of those songs again! Please let me know how to contact you so I can send you blanks, postage, whatever.

Oh and to Douglas: I discovered Heavy Vegetable because of you, man! One of my favorite bands EVER. Rob Crow is a genius.
