Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 02:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Trapped in the Closet is amazing.

I can't believe there are 4 more parts coming!

Jimmy_tango, Tuesday, 5 April 2005 02:40 (twenty-one years ago)

This can also be the thread where we anticipate the upcoming album!

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 02:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I anticipate R Kelly will do a lot of stuff on that album that make me feel decidedly uncomfortable (see also: Jah Cure.)

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

AKA please stop singing about SHOWERS, R!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 02:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Those Cascio horns make me uncomfortable.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to know how the closet song resolves! Will R Kelly use his baretta? WHO KNOWS!

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 07:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i can't wait to listen to this ! (i'm at work...).
i was kinda disappointed by "sex in the kitchen" (original versionĂ .

"Let's get together like a cookout baby/ you bring the beer i'ma bump some Sade-y!"

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 20:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I also love the light stabbing guitar note that seems to poke thru in the background.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 20:48 (twenty-one years ago)

anyone else think happy people was totally slept on?

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 20:49 (twenty-one years ago)

"anyone else think happy people was totally slept on?"

Yes. But not 'U Saved Me.'

Chris Lemon-Red, Tuesday, 5 April 2005 20:58 (twenty-one years ago)

In chicago they gave a lot of spins to that "Red Carpet" song, I liked it a lot.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

the remix is brilliant !
it's roughly the same process as ignition : original = not very interesting / remix = yeepee !
i couldn't tell which one is my fav summer single between "kitchen remix" and "signs"...

AleXTC (AleXTC), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 08:02 (twenty-one years ago)

"Trapped in the Closet" (linked in that blog post as well) is just BATSHIT.

I love that classic paranoid/melodramatic R. Kelly sound, cf. "Showdown"; will he pull his Beretta in chapter two? And will his lady's gentleman friend turn out to be Ronald Isley?

Daniel Cohen (dayan), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I always liked the original "Ignition" better than the remix, and I think the same is true for me this time too, but this remix is pretty good.

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 23:58 (twenty-one years ago)

the remix and "trapped in the closet" blow my fucking mind. He's still got it! I prefer the original "Sex In The Kitchen" though (on a mere TS level). haven't heard the original "Ignition".

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 7 April 2005 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

while the crucialness of picking up Chocolate Factory is obvious, I've been holding out for finding a copy with the Loveland EP, to no avail.

miccio (miccio), Thursday, 7 April 2005 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I wouldn't say i like the original better than the remix w/r/t ignition, but its certainly on the same level....i like them the way they go together on the album too.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Thursday, 7 April 2005 00:25 (twenty-one years ago)

really ? i've always found ignition original a bit boring. it's almost an intro to the remix on the album.
does kels have an album coming ?

AleXTC (AleXTC), Thursday, 7 April 2005 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
"Trapped In The Closet, Pt.2" is up now...
