I turned on R2 yesterday and, wow, he was singing - of a field of blood and stone, a field of mud and bone. The words kept flying, the phrases coming, the vocal climbing, with purpose, with intent he knew and I was only just finding out, here and now, there and then. And not one harmonica break but two.

I heard it again this morning, and it brought tears to my eyes.

Bruce Springsteen's new 45: to be released 26th April, and from an LP of the same name, I think. Anyone else heard it?

I love Springsteen, yet for some reason am less than excited about hearing the new record. In fact, the single came on the radio right when I was near home, and I didn't stay in the car long enough to hear more than a minute or so of it. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Now, another solo tour, on the other hand: that's exciting!
