Because I think he deserves one at this point.

he's only really got one song but DAMN I like it so much!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

Er. Sonically or thematically?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

I wish he only had one song! I like the ones about the ladies but I'm not into the violence ones ("Get Back" is improved by the verse at the end where he reaffirms he'd prefer sex to giving beatdowns). I haven't heard enough Luda to make a POX and I consider this a personal flaw of mine.

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

Welcome to Atlanta
Southern Hospitality
Gossip Folks
Rollout (My Business)
Move Bitch
That one verse in the Boost Mobile Phone ad
Get Back
Area Codes
Cry Babies (Oh No)
Splash Waterfalls

ng, Tuesday, 5 April 2005 17:47 (twenty years ago)

My wife is completely in love with "Move". In fact, she tends to scream it at other female drivers, usually interspersed with rants on women drivers that seem more suited to a man in a pickup truck than an operatic soprano in a Rav4.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

I love the song now too.

miccio (miccio), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:16 (twenty years ago)

I'm feeling lazy, but i think that the "Made U Look (Remix)" w/ Jada deserves a mention...

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:34 (twenty years ago)

including guest verses:

10. Area Codes
9. Gossip Folks
8. Lovers and Friends
7. Blow It Out
6. Saturday (Ooh Oooh!)
5. B R Right
4. What's Your Fantasy
3. Rollout (My Business)
2. Yeah!
1. Stand Up

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

I think Ludacris works best as a cameo/guest rapper as his whole albums tend to get kind of trying.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 18:54 (twenty years ago)

Hell yes. the newspaper theme in his verse is gggggreat.

tylero (tylero), Tuesday, 5 April 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

His number one for me would be ... probably "What's Your Fantasy." Yeah. Southern Hospitality, Made U Look rmx, Yeah!, B R Right, Gossip Folks, Welcome to Atlanta, One Minute Man, Southern Fried Intro...that should do it. "Phat Rabbit" last.

hopefully the t.i. banger won't be this album's version of "grew up a screw up"

now it's black with that purp i call my whip the sac king

kgb (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 9 October 2008 01:34 (seventeen years ago)

"Undisputed" is still stuck kind of in that more sluggish "Get Back" flow he's been rasping on for a while now, but it has some pretty awesomely-delivered lines in there.

Doctor Casino, Thursday, 9 October 2008 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

luda's singles are consistantly good, shake yer money maker, girls gone wild for example are both recentish singles that are great. also the pimpin all over the world go go remix (ft rare essence) is excellent.

that album with area codes saturday roll out etc is hands down his best work though...

is he any good in that new guy ritchie film?

ps "Southern Hospitality" still fucking slays

now I have to imagine your penis (DJP), Tuesday, 30 August 2011 18:30 (fourteen years ago)

maybe someone would throw "how low" in there, but that's about the only thing i can think of

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 18:30 (fourteen years ago)

some good remix verses (I'm So Hood, Love King, Beamer Benz Or Bentley) and a few good deep cuts on the last couple albums (Do The Right Thang, Everybody Drunk, B.O.T.S. Radio) but yeah nothing that would really change my POX much and mostly he's been doing shitty grocery bag verses on awful pop songs the last couple years.

Up on the roof?
Did I do it on the roof? [Thinks] Yeah, I have.

gr8080, Tuesday, 24 March 2015 18:00 (ten years ago)

Yeah but I did it on a roof in the pouring rain. Beat that.

If you've been on The Internet recently I know you've seen this, but I love it: Ludacris meeting Jeb Bush.

After leaving the Capitol, Bush tweeted about his encounter — shown above — with rapper Ludacris, who was also at the Capitol today. https://twitter.com/JebBush/status/578580670085271552

Ludacris sadly did not advise Bush to “throw them bows” in a GOP primary, nor did he reveal how to appeal to female voters in different area codes. But he did offer a quasi-endorsement. As Ludacris was leaving the Capitol, he was asked which Bush is his favorite.

His response: “The one outside.”

And I love that Luda's charity arm is called the Ludacris Foundation. Love this guy all around really.

About 5 years ago I worked in a restaurant and Ludacris came in, ordered spring rolls, and sent them back. When I apologized he said “don’t apologize, spring rolls are unpredictable.” I think about this at least once a week.
