And I don't really have time to do the necessary research and come up with questions (other than ingenious referances to the fact that the lead singer's name is Woomble which is rather like Womble. Ho ho!) so do y'all wanna do the hard work for me?

no.

why do you even, like, have this job?

DougD (DougD), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:00 (twenty years ago)

So, Idlewild, Why do you want to work for Tescos?

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:01 (twenty years ago)

So, Idlewild, please go and work for Tescos.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:11 (twenty years ago)

ask them why at this point in their career they decided to start sucking.

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:16 (twenty years ago)

I have an idea what the D in DougD may stand for....

Not that I feel i have to justify myself BUT as well as having a full-time job I am a full-time student which leaves me without as much time to put into this as i would like. Of course I WILL get it sorted but thought that the ILX community may have a few interesting ideas to throw my way.

uptoeleven (uptoeleven), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:19 (twenty years ago)

I think they've basically sucked since they kicked out their bassist. Or at least roughly around then, it may not be directly linked. They lost whatever edge they had to their sound and are just totally bland to my ears now.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:21 (twenty years ago)

the lead singer's name is Woomble which is rather like Womble

That is pretty funny though. I've met his sister and it took a lot of effort on my part not to mention the Woomble/womble thing.

The Horse of Babylon (the pirate king), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:23 (twenty years ago)

is her name Tobermory?

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:32 (twenty years ago)

No

The Horse of Babylon (the pirate king), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:34 (twenty years ago)

ask them if they plan on getting noisy again.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:58 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. As much as I like that "sing songs about myself" one, hey they've done that one now.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 09:59 (twenty years ago)

Ask them if they just completely shot their load of good ideas on the last two albums and their assorted B-sides, all of which are better than the best track on the new one. Really, go on.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:22 (twenty years ago)

give 'em all chinese burns, they always sux0r3d anyway.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:27 (twenty years ago)

plus, you could ask them if they think it's a coincidence that "lammo" sounds almost like "lame-o".

Pashmina (Pashmina), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 11:29 (twenty years ago)

be bold and totally lay into them. print this thread out and show them what people really think of their MOR REM-a-like bleating.

i understand that they binned their entire first-run at their second full album because it was so dull and then they wrote an entirely new one, which got released. ask them why they have now decided to go back and release the one they scrapped.

and then throw your shoes at them.

Lee F# (fsharp), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:07 (twenty years ago)

Why?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 12:17 (twenty years ago)

If you're going to name yourself after an airport why not a Scottish one, like Prestwick or Turnhouse?

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Wednesday, 6 April 2005 15:01 (twenty years ago)

the captain mini lp and i think next couple of singles were fantastic then all of a sudden theybecame lame lame lame. ask them about that. really though that first thing they did was stunning, it seemed to be something to do with music since then seems like its something to do with career.ugh.......
