2raumwohnung anyone?

so i'm getting my hair cut from my favorite soviet barber (9$) when i make the decision not to go back uptown till I buy me some 2raumwohnung. Which proved to be rather difficult, since I didn't know how to pronounce or even spell their name. but after a few near-misses i found them in the teutonic imports (under T), and came home with 'es wird morgen.'

i guess it was expecting too much for every song to floor me like 'spiel mit' (and the 'sasha' remixes), but it's still likeable enough electropop. does anyone have any info on them? in english perhaps? are spacemen the new robots? and how do you pronounce 2raumwohnung anyway?

heh, i meant raumschmiere obv. i also have some unremixed acoustic guitar thingy from their album that's a bit pretty, but not to the extent that i'm going to now find out what it's caled.

is the moguai mix the only version in english?

i like that 'wir sind die anderen' is subtitled (spring 2007). it's like listening to the future. but it could stand an alter ego remix.

Inga Humpe has been around for AGES. She was in the Neo Babies, and is most notorious for her big sell-out NDW hit "Codo" as a member of DÖF.

Ich und Elaine ( = Elaine and I) is one of those magical songs which disparate friends in my life have always responded to when placed on a mix. It's really a superb pop song. The song appeared on their full-length album "In Wirklich," which was released in 2002 in Germany on Goldrush/BMG distribution. There are 11 tracks. The opener, "da sind wir," is a nod (oddly enough, but not bad in this case) to Bowie. If you go to www.amazon.de you will be able to order loads of 2raumwohnung, and even if you don't read German, you should be able to figure out how to place an order (or ask a friend who knows enough German to do so).

2raumwohnunh have made some really good songs. "Ich und Elaine" is probably their best, but I quite like the whole album In Wirklich. I haven't quite got into their newest release, but "2 Von Millionen Sternen" is very nice.

there's an english version of "spiel mit"! it's called "play", and it's on the end of the deluxe version of es wird morgen (along with an english version of "sexy girl"). and it's fantastic! the repeated rhymes in the chorus ("you come to me / and play with me / i come to you / and play with you") has an off-putting rhythm to it, maybe appropriate to schaffel-pop. they're not going after the english-language market with a name like that, are they?

inge humpe was also in humpe humpe with her sister, i presume, and released the conny plank producted 'yamaha' single. an odd single that. martin gore also featured on something by humpe humpe but can't remember what exactly.
