I have to say, she knows how to shake her stuff on hot tunes like "Oye Mi Canto." Definitely gold medal material.

Scott, I would recommend the quesadillas from the Mexican place next door to Sonotheque. They're sort of a cross between quesadillas and tacos, but they are delicious.

OK question: whose bright idea was it to include a step right in the middle of the dancefloor at sonotheque?

If only I were there this evening, i could have rolled my ankle a second time :(

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:11 (twenty years ago)

hmm, john, mexican sound great but I wanted to get close to home and I'm all the way up in ravenswood-- drake, there are *two* steps in the middle of sonotheque!

scott pl. (scott pl.), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:14 (twenty years ago)

I suppose you can do, like, aerobic step-dancing there.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:16 (twenty years ago)

As a former dance instructor, it makes sense that Julianne basically tore shit up. She tried to teach me a couple moves. I got nothin'. I'm so fucking blasted I'm amazed I'm still awake. Free drinks is pretty much the best thing ever.

Ryan Pitchfork, Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:17 (twenty years ago)

for a few brief seconds while dancing tonight, i thought of how gendered power relations on the dance floor could be explored and/or subverted by means of those steps.

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:19 (twenty years ago)

I always wonder how long before someone trips and shards of PBR go everywhere.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:19 (twenty years ago)

er, shards of pbr bottles, that is.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:19 (twenty years ago)

haha, that's like all i drank tonight. djdee, you have to let me know when you're in town again!

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:21 (twenty years ago)

In May, I'll be in town for good! Graduation is in mid-May.

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:21 (twenty years ago)

yeah!

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:22 (twenty years ago)

yeah, david, let's get together in the summer

scott pl. (scott pl.), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:23 (twenty years ago)

Sounds good. On a semi-related topic: are they doing the house night again in grant park this summer? Anyone know?

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:25 (twenty years ago)

Lethal Dizzle (djdee2005), Saturday, 9 April 2005 07:29 (twenty years ago)
