Which do you prefer? The two share something, to my ears, in melodic structure.

i love jaguar,

but i think i like dead eyes opened more.

i'll say 'Jaguar' as i know it better but a friend did just include a big load of Severed Heads on a DVD-R for me and sounds excellent.

i don't know jaguar so i'll say dead eyes opened. either the 83 or the 85 version. ignore the latter ones.

Where's the love for "Propellor" or "Goodbye Tonsils"?

I was always all about Petrol, actually. I have the version on the Come Visit the Big Bigot with Dead Eyes Open CD, the 7", and 2 demo versions downloaded from sevcom, but once heard a different version on an old comp that blew me away and I've never found.

There was a 12" for "Petrol" released on Normal in Europe. *grabs it*

* Petrol (Short Mix)
* Petrol (Cut Up Mix)
* Son Of (Bigot Mix)

I think both versions are different than the one on the Nettwerk Dead Eyes Opened mini-LP from 1985.

There's also a Volition 2-LP edition of Come Visit The Big Bigot which has a bonus LP of remixes... I forget if there's yet another remix of "Petrol" on it.

after borrowing "Clifford Darling Please Don't Live In The Past" of a friend, i have a new favorite SH release. Now the hard part is to find a copy for myself....(needle in a haystack)

espresso fetish (espresso fetish), Monday, 12 September 2005 05:29 (twenty years ago)

hard? not at all!

jimmy glass (electricsound), Monday, 12 September 2005 05:33 (twenty years ago)

thanks jimmy glass
But I have borrowed the dbl 12"
I could not use a cd ....

It will have to be one of those 12"s that one day I will find!

"HAROLD AND CINDY HOSPITAL" ROOLS

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 12 September 2005 11:07 (twenty years ago)

I've been dying to have a proper copy of 'Harold and Cindy Hospital', 'Gnashing the Old Mae West' and 'Greater Reward, Big Car' since mentioned on this forum a while back. I wonder if anyone would be so kind...?

Mae West, Monday, 12 September 2005 11:15 (twenty years ago)

mae west was on ebay a few days ago. 23 minutes of mayhem. or go to www.sevcom.com and order it / stream it from severed heads direct

frenchbloke (frenchbloke), Monday, 12 September 2005 11:32 (twenty years ago)

the "Mae West" 12" isn't as hard to find as some of the other singles (at least last I checked) Try Gemm or eBay? I found a near mint copy for $7US.. but this was 6 years ago. It also has "A Relic Of The Empire/A Million Angels" on the B-side conveniently at 45rpm... and an exclusive B-side (never released digitally outside sevcom.com I don't think.)

"Greater Reward" and "Big Car" are common used Nettwerk release cutout finds that can be found for just dollars.

"Harold And City Hospital"'s on the Come Visit The Big Bigot album, but I think the longer more sparse and bassy remix may be on the Bulkhead vinyl; and it's definitely on that 2-LP Come Visit The Big Bigot on Volition.
