Why aren't we talking about these records?

It used to be that I'd never get a chance to post a thread about a new record I was digging because somebody on ILM always beat me to the punch. Why has it been so slow around here lately? Why haven't we discussed Vic Chesnutt's new album, Ghetto Bells? Why no talk of the Dungen and Bill Fay reissues? Why no mention of the recently unearthed Albert Ayler "Live on the Riviera" CD? Nick Cave B-sides? Anything else I'm missing?

It hasn't been slow, we've just been catching up.

There's a thread on the Cave b-sides, but it's been kind of slow. Everyone seemed to pretty much agree that they were good and then go on their merry way.

What's the Ayler like?

The Hold Steady - Spearation Sunday

OK, so it's not out yet, but all you Hold Steady/Lftr Pllr diehards must have heard the leak of this album already, and it is AMAZING.

Pitchfork gave a favorable track review to "Your Little Hoodrat Friend," but the whole album is just as good.

Quite possibly, IMHO, the Best Album of 2005.

The Ayler disc is really good. Best heard as a companion piece to the Fondation Maeght Nights 1970 CD (on Water); they were recorded on successive days.

(I'll be damned, there is this thread (that I missed in my search, somehow), already: /ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?thread.php?msgid=5612750 my bad. It's still an amazing album that deserves to be talked about even more.
