This is the thread where you can talk shit about my music and be a hipster jerkoff or offer constructive criticism and analysis. The choice is yours.

Well, I'm listening to it as I post, and I like it. I don't think you should call it "avant-garde" though, unless you're being facetious.

Hurting (Hurting), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:13 (twenty years ago)

I'd be tempted to call it dance noise or noise house or something like that.

Hurting (Hurting), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:16 (twenty years ago)

wait till you hear a full band.
with my diamanda galas inspired vocal riffs.

I dig that you like System of a Down and Close to the Edge.

My reaction to the mp3s was basically "This isn't the sort of thing I'd usually pick up, but if I was at a show and this came on, I'd think it was pretty awesome and maybe even get a CD."

If you don't mind returning the gesture and offering comments of your own:

and then the microtonal harry partch type bits.
thanks for the kind words. these are demos for attracting a live band.

Are you in the NYC area?

Hurting (Hurting), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

Trying to move back to Santa Rosa this summer.

@@r0n h. z@nd3r$ (AaronHz), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

One cover song that we will play at every show is Captain Beefheart "Pachuco Cadaver", if you get my drift. I need a band that can at least play that one with me. Math nerds.

This is not going to be an electronic group for long.

@@r0n h. z@nd3r$ (AaronHz), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:37 (twenty years ago)

That's my favourite list of influences ever, especially that Skid Row appears twice (I'm really hoping that's not a typo). It's at times like this that I wish the offline world were more like ILM (saddest statement ever?).

Anyway, you can count another fan.

the fucker that will burn you (sundar), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:40 (twenty years ago)

oh and I should make clear that this one is all one piece that's meant to be played on repeat as background music for people that like stupid music, like me. It's circular.

Sundar I'm so glad you noticed that. It was a typo but I caught it and laughed my ass off. It stays. They rule.

I just put on Slave to the Grind. These songs sound really fun to sing. Might do Monkey or Slave sometime.

@@r0n h. z@nd3r$ (AaronHz), Sunday, 10 April 2005 17:50 (twenty years ago)

I just met a dude who played drums with Skid Row ... sans Sebastien Bach.

Hurting (Hurting), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

No Bach, no Rock.

@@r0n h. z@nd3r$ (AaronHz), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

His OTT vocals are like 90% of the appeal to me.

@@r0n h. z@nd3r$ (AaronHz), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:51 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I saw the Bach-less group open for Poison two summers ago. It's not at all the same. He just shouted everything in sort of a medium register.

the fucker that will burn you (sundar), Sunday, 10 April 2005 18:51 (twenty years ago)

dude you really have to have a good range for skid row or it won't work.

There is a brand new Deus Inchoatus composition written and recorded an hour and a half ago entitled "James Blount Sucks". It is a hardcore riff with Ween/Residents vocals. It is 39 seconds long. Gmail me and I will forward it to you.
An ILX exclusive, for now.
