All In Me - Rodney Jerkins' in full blown sci-fi production decadence mode, only unusually deliriously upbeat. Includes bizarre but inspired 2-step section.
Apart - Weird vocals and pseudo-gothic production makes this Brandy's "Kate Bush" moment.
Can We/I Thought - two chips off the "What About Us" block. One of these is better than the other but I can't remember which right now.
Anybody - I think this is also good, a sort of low-key but intense number, but I would have to listen again to go into further detail.
WOW - my secret favourite Full Moon track, a treacly ballad. I dislike all of the other treacly ballads on Full Moon, and I can't really say why "WOW" is any different but it really is.

Does Monica have one of these yet? It would probably be even better than this.

"Angel of Mine" is probably the best R&B song of the past decade.

Seriously, why is Brandy so underrated? Literally everything I've heard from her upcoming album (including the bsides) is amazing and better than Beyonce's album, she's a beast vocally - she kills John Legend on his own album - all 4 of her albums are great (2 of them I would consider classic), yet she doesn't really get much attention. Full Moon for example is one of the best albums of this decade, so much better than Aaliyah's s/t album which gets so much praise (it's a great album, but still...).

Like seriously listen to this song:

"Departed" is terrific. Plus, hearing 'Dark Child' at the beginning of a song always takes me back to the good ol days.

I find her to be a rather bland singer. She does have a few jams, though.

am still the only person who'll rep for afrodisiac which is one of my favourite r&b albums ever, and also a hugely important album in terms of the evolution of timbaland's sound
i love her voice! that rasp in her throat <3
― lex pretend, Monday, 17 November 2008 11:04 (seventeen years ago)
I don't think it's her voice itself that I find boring but what she does with it.
― The Reverend, Monday, 17 November 2008 12:04 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah I'd argue that Brandy has songs/performances that bring out the positive side of her voice only some of the time.

the burning question is "what two songs did she play?"
― OH MY GOD HE'S OOGLY (DJP), Thursday, 22 August 2013 16:52 (twelve years ago)
"Right Here (Departed)" and "What About Us?"
― some dude, Thursday, 22 August 2013 19:10 (twelve years ago)
I guess it's too much to hope that she did an impromptu cover of "Where Do You Go" by No Mercy before leaving the stage

The only way this could be better is if only one male fan had shown up and Brandy sang "The Boy Is Mine" sans Monica

Playing London in September. Anyone seen one of her shows? Was it any good?
― Supposed Former ILM Lurker (WeWantMiles), Monday, 2 September 2013 09:25 (twelve years ago)
Something tragic about that news story, given how good "What About Us?" is. That said, I can't name anything by her since.
― djh, Monday, 2 September 2013 21:49 (twelve years ago)
presumably because you just haven't paid attention to her since
― lex pretend, Monday, 2 September 2013 22:06 (twelve years ago)
I have definitely bought records by her since but, you're right, I haven't really paid much attention.

I can not believe I only now discovered “I wanna be down” was sampled byTeebee for AprilDawn. Wtf.

got this on a Youtube recommendation recently and blown away by it, the way she goes from basic dance moves and hype-building cheers into those incredible vocals, so much control and yet so thrilling

Forgot how good "Full Moon" (the song) was, that bassline!
