Cobain Honoured By Home Town -- The late Kurt Cobain is to be honoured by his home town of Aberdeen, in Washington state. This is to take the form of a sign saying: 'Welcome To Aberdeen. Come As You Are', which people will see as they enter the town. The second part, of course, is also a song from the classic 'Nevermind' album.

ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh that is fucking disgusting. fucking hick co-opting trash. fuck them. i hope the aberdeen city council (if there is such a thing) rots in hell.

last night on Robot Chicken (claymation adult swim show started by Seth Green, for those that dont know), they had a sketch called "zombie idol" where the corpses of dead rock stars competed to be crowned zombie idol. it wasn't that funny, but at one point a claymation Ving Rhames comes out to kill the zombies with a shotgun after they go out of control. then the kurt cobain zombie comes up to him, takes the shotgun, and shoots himself in the face.

i dont know if i was tired, or just pissed off at other things (like i am now), but i thought it was in really bad taste. for all the talk of the cult of Kurt (which i agree is stupid and a terrible misreading), i find it even worse to fucking joke about such a sad event.

JD- I'd stay away from pisspoor late 90s animated sitcom "House of Rock" if I was you. That was basically 1/3 of the jokes from it. (The other jokes were: Freddie Mercury is a homo and Notorious BIG is black and thus grunts rather than talks).
