Tips for this weekend on London

Hi there everyone!

This is a young spaniard who's planning to spend this weekend (from thursday to sunday) on London. Can anyone reccomend me any...

1. Interesting record shop, Rough Trade aside?
2. Great concert, Bloc Party on Astoria aside (the only one I have bought tickets for)? I know there's Rufus Wainwright but tickets are sold out now.

Any helpful answer will be really appreciated!

Thanks beforehand,
Juan M

Just head to Berwick Street in Soho and you'll see a street lined with great record stores: Reckless, Music and Video Exchange, Mr CD, Select-a-disc. The list goes on and on.

There's also a bunch of branches of the Music and Video Exchange in Notting Hill just steps from the tube.

Juan, great job on Loops and Alta Fidelidad, they're two of my favorite books about music ever...I'm from Mexico, but I spent all of last year between Madrid and Barcelona and I really miss GO Mag and Rockdelux! (which I can get here, but 3 months late)

There's a Get Physical night at Fabric on the 16th, DJ T + MANDY + Booka Shade, that might be good...

¡Saludos!

Get yourself along to the first annual London Zine Symposium for some ziney fun. I'll be there with lovely copies of Beard!

This is a handy thread though. I'm coming down from Scotland for this (and to see friends!) but I noticed there are no good gigs on the Saturday, apart from King Sunny Ade which I just can't afford.
